Field Guide
Give a valid answer today. Learn how rare it was tomorrow.
Ten open prompts.
Every daily climb has ten prompts across ten knowledge routes. You get 25 seconds to type one valid answer. There are no multiple-choice hints.
Validity locks immediately.
Everest confirms whether your answer matches the accepted route book. Common spellings, aliases, and close typos are handled server-side. If an answer cannot be confirmed automatically, it is marked unconfirmed rather than simply called wrong.
Rarity waits for the crowd.
During the live climb, every valid answer gets the same provisional movement. After the Eastern calendar day closes, Everest compares all valid answers for each prompt and measures how often each canonical answer was chosen.
Return for your final altitude.
After the route closes at midnight Eastern, Everest holds an overnight review window for unconfirmed answers. Final population scoring begins after 8:00 AM Eastern. Your final elevation points, rarity tiers, altitude, and Everest Rating then lock using the day’s player pool.
Easy, medium, and hard routes.
Every daily climb mixes Foothold, Ridge, and Summit prompts. Difficulty affects the long-term rating model, while answer rarity determines how far each valid answer climbs that day.
Ten routes, ten ratings.
You build category ratings in History, Geography, Science, Sports, Entertainment, Business, Technology, Civics, Food & Culture, and General Knowledge. Your overall Everest Rating reflects sustained performance across many finalized climbs.
The Summit Board.
The global leaderboard uses finalized Everest Ratings only. Provisional scores never move the leaderboard. One established climber holds the summit at a time.
Monthly Summit Series — coming later.
Everest is designed to eventually support special monthly competitions for top established climbers using fresh, unseen prompts and tighter verification. Prize competition is not active today and normal daily play does not award cash.
Official climbs are server-timed, limited to one attempt per account per day, and scored only after the daily population closes. Practice climbs do not affect the Summit Board.
